Finance Analyst

About the role

Farrer Barnes Limited is a well‑established, growing business based in Chatham. The finance team plays a key role in supporting the wider organisation by turning data into insight that drives better decision‑making and performance. This hybrid role offers the chance to work closely with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, variances and improvement opportunities.
• Produce regular financial reports, dashboards and management information.
• Build, maintain and enhance reporting tools using Power BI.
• Use SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data from multiple systems.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Provide analysis and commentary to underpin business decisions.
• Work closely with finance and non‑finance stakeholders across the business.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and reporting capability.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Finance Analyst, Commercial Analyst or similar analytical finance role.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience creating reports and dashboards with Power BI.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to query and analyse data effectively.
• Advanced Excel skills, comfortable working with large data sets.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings clearly.
• Confidence working with stakeholders across different areas of the business.
• Proactive approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
