Finance Analyst – Reporting & Modelling

About the role

Harper May Ltd is partnering with a fast‑growing, founder‑led financial services firm in London. The Finance Analyst will support the finance team as it builds a more structured reporting and performance‑management platform.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly management accounts with clear variance analysis and narrative.
• Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, building and updating financial models.
• Analyse profitability, revenue trends, and cost management across business lines.
• Develop business cases and scenario analyses to inform investment and strategic decisions.
• Own balance‑sheet reconciliation, accruals, and month‑end close procedures.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility of key metrics.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate financial questions into actionable analysis.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent professional accountancy experience.
• 3‑5 years of finance experience, preferably within financial services or professional services.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to communicate insights to both finance and non‑finance audiences.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented and able to maintain accuracy under time pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
