Finance Assistant – Credit Control & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to support a busy finance team within a specialist import and distribution business. The role combines credit control, financial reporting and Amazon Seller Central management, offering a hands‑on opportunity to own the ledger and drive cash flow.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full credit control function, chasing outstanding debts, reviewing aged debt reports and resolving payment queries.
• Process customer credit card payments, issue statements, invoices and credit notes, and set up new customer accounts.
• Record and reconcile transactions across sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook; process sales and purchase invoices.
• Complete month‑end reconciliations, investigate credit balances and rebates, and assist with multi‑currency VAT registrations and returns.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial and management reports using advanced Excel for data manipulation.
• Operate Amazon Seller Central to generate sales, settlement and VAT reports, reconcile fees and support Marketplace Facilitator VAT requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in credit control or accounts‑receivable.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
