Finance Assistant – Full or Part Time

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a growing, forward‑thinking business in Paignton. The role offers permanent employment with the flexibility to work either full‑time or part‑time, ideal for someone seeking a long‑term position in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Managing purchase orders, supplier invoices and customer invoicing
• Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving account queries
• Chasing outstanding payments and maintaining accurate finance records
• Assisting with month‑end reporting and finance administration
• Maintaining country of origin and compliance documentation
• Coordinating finance and administrative processes across the business
• Contributing to continuous improvement projects and wider office administration

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator or Bookkeeper
• Strong background in purchase ledger, sales ledger, invoicing, credit control and general finance administration
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software such as Xero or similar
• Highly organised, detail‑focused and proactive with excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience within an SME or growing business is advantageous
