Finance Assistant

About the role

Wonderbly is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its growing finance team. This is an ideal position for someone with 1‑2 years of accounting experience who wants to deepen their knowledge of e‑commerce finance while working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate ledger entries.
• Run weekly payment cycles and perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee the main accounting inbox, handling supplier and internal queries.
• Process employee expenses and business subscriptions using Spendesk.
• Post month‑end journal entries, including accruals, pre‑payments and adjustments.
• Produce month‑end variance analysis and support budget vs. actual tracking.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review.
• Liaise with the marketing team to monitor spend against budgets.
• Raise contracts for freelancers and assist with annual budgeting and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Proactive, highly organised and detail‑oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, creative environment.
• Enjoys both routine tasks and ad‑hoc projects.

Required skills

• Spendesk spend‑management tool.
• Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
