Finance Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join a small, close‑knit finance team in Kidlington. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support credit control, accounts receivable and occasional accounts payable tasks while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage credit control processes, chase outstanding invoices and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Process sales ledger invoices and support the accounts receivable function.
• Assist with accounts payable activities when required.
• Liaise confidently with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers and colleagues at all levels.
• Provide broader support to sales and administration teams as needed.
• Undertake ad‑hoc finance duties as the business grows.

Required profile

• Practical experience in credit control and accounts receivable (essential).
• Experience of accounts payable is desirable.
• Confident, personable communicator comfortable dealing with varied stakeholders.
• Strong customer‑service ethos with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a small, fast‑paced team.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Previous experience in a smaller organisation is preferred.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary up to £32,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Flexible working hours (choice of 8‑am‑4 pm, 9‑am‑5 pm or 10‑am‑6 pm).
