Finance Assistant

About the role

Join a growing SME in Harewood as a Finance Assistant, supporting the Financial Controller and the wider finance team. You will be involved in a variety of transactional finance activities, gaining hands‑on experience across the full accounting cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders, and run payment batches.
• Raise customer invoices, allocate receipts, and chase overdue payments.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and support cash‑flow reporting.
• Assist with month‑end journals, balance‑sheet reconciliations and the preparation of management accounts.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and support payroll and pension administration.
• Help with VAT returns, audit documentation and ad‑hoc finance queries.
• Provide cover for other finance team members as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance or accounts role.
• Good understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with purchase and sales ledger processes.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
