Finance Assistant (Part‑Time – 24 Hours)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Finance Assistant to join a well‑established business in Chester. The role offers a flexible 24‑hour week and the chance to work across a variety of finance processes, making a real impact within a supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Daily bank reconciliations across GBP, EUR and USD accounts
• Allocating incoming payments and processing credit‑card transactions
• Monthly VAT uploads and weekly deferred VAT uploads
• Entering Northern Ireland shipment information onto the HMRC portal
• Checking and processing employee, consultant and sales expense claims
• Supporting accounts payable activities and handling payment‑related queries
• Preparing payment runs and BACS payments alongside the Shared Services team
• Completing Intrastat reporting via an online platform
• Assisting with month‑end tasks, including bank, cash, petty cash, trade receivables and VAT reconciliations

Required profile

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or transactional finance role
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Comfortable working with figures, finance systems and spreadsheets
• Ability to manage own workload and work well as part of a team
• A positive, hands‑on approach
