Finance Assistant – Property Finance

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised Finance Assistant to join a specialist property finance lender. The role supports underwriting, sales and operations teams, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day finance processes within a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Maintain bookkeeping records and post journal entries.
• Process daily payments and run payment cycles.
• Allocate and monitor receivables.
• Support credit control functions and produce related reports.
• Prepare portfolio statements for funders and mortgage/repayment statements for borrowers.
• Manage accounts‑related queries and assist with internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and provide general finance and administrative support.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounts or finance role.
• Experience in property finance, bridging finance, buy‑to‑let, residential or commercial lending is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable.
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Client‑focused communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint.
