Finance Assistant – Sage Experience Required

About the role

We are looking for an organised Finance Assistant to join a busy school finance team in East London. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will help keep the school’s financial processes running smoothly on a weekly rolling contract.

Key responsibilities

• Raise requisitions and convert them into Purchase Orders using PS Financials, following approval procedures.
• Process invoices for monthly BACS payments.
• Manage the shared finance inbox and respond to staff and supplier queries.
• Set up and maintain supplier records in the system.
• Place orders and ensure accurate financial records.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and administrative support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Assistant or in a similar finance administration role.
• Working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage workloads accurately under pressure.
• Experience in an education setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to complete registration and hold an Enhanced DBS (or obtain one).
