Finance Business Partner – Operations / Cost Focus

About the role

This position supports a large, multi‑site organisation by providing commercial insight, stakeholder influence and financial analysis to drive performance improvements across operational and cost centres.

Key responsibilities

• Business partnering with operational leaders to support strategic and operational decision‑making.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and planning activities for designated business areas.
• Delivering insightful management reporting, KPI analysis and performance commentary.
• Providing robust challenge and variance analysis to improve business performance.
• Developing financial models, investment appraisals and business cases.
• Supporting transformation programmes, efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
• Identifying risks, opportunities and operational performance improvements.
• Translating complex financial information into clear, actionable commercial recommendations.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Background in Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance or FP&A.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and performance management expertise.
• Experience supporting operational or cost‑focused business functions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing abilities.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Commercial mindset with confidence to challenge senior leaders.
• Curious approach to understand business drivers and opportunities.
