Finance Change Lead

About the role

The Finance Change Lead will join the Finance Transformation Programme at the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). You will be responsible for designing and delivering finance process improvements that enhance customer experience, strengthen controls and increase automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of finance process change initiatives aligned to the Finance Transformation Programme.
• Translate strategic objectives into practical process improvements and implementation plans.
• Drive hands‑on delivery of change across finance, focusing on reducing manual work and increasing straight‑through processing.
• Design and implement improved processes for Accounts Payable, supplier onboarding and reporting.
• Ensure changes improve financial control, auditability and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with the Programme Lead and Project Manager to align delivery with overall plans.

Required profile

• A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering finance change or transformation within a finance function.
• Strong knowledge of financial systems and accounting processes.
• Ability to work autonomously while influencing a wide‑range of stakeholders.
