Finance Data Analyst

About the role

This position is focused on integrating financial insights and leading process improvements for a growing professional services firm in Edinburgh. You will develop and maintain reporting solutions that support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial data to create and develop reporting outputs.
• Maintain existing financial reporting and performance dashboards.
• Design and build a financial dashboard to aid decision making.
• Automate reporting using Power BI or similar tools.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to gather requirements and deliver meaningful insight.
• Lead process‑improvement initiatives and remove bottlenecks.
• Perform ad‑hoc analysis as required.

Required profile

• Solid background in ledger accounting.
• Experience in process enhancement and improvement.
• Fundamental understanding of finance, with or without formal qualifications.
• Strong accounting skills to provide valuable insights.
• Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Power BI (or similar reporting tools).
• Advanced Excel.
• AI for reporting.
• Financial analysis tools.

• Salary range £45,000 – £55,000, dependent on experience.
