Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function of Happy Days, a fast‑growing nursery and pre‑school group, as it establishes a new hub in Swindon. Reporting to the CFO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape the long‑term financial strategy and drive efficiencies across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end, year‑end, consolidation and statutory reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators for the group, providing insight to senior leaders and investors.
• Lead M&A due‑diligence, financial modelling and integration for future acquisitions.
• Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives within finance.
• Manage a team of approximately 16 professionals, including three direct reports, fostering high performance and development.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive senior finance experience.
• Proven track record in multi‑site organisations and high‑growth environments.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
