Finance Director

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially‑mindset Finance Director to lead the finance function of our fast‑growing fintech business. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for financial reporting, regulatory compliance, controls and governance while acting as a strategic partner to the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and monthly finance packs for board and ExCo meetings.
• Ensure audit readiness across all jurisdictions and manage external auditors.
• Own FCA regulatory reporting, own‑funds returns and capital adequacy monitoring.
• Maintain and continuously improve the financial control framework, including segregation of duties and reconciliations.
• Lead, develop and set objectives for the finance team, providing succession cover and removing key‑person risk.
• Support forward capital planning and produce capital and prudential MI for the Board.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA) with senior finance experience in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS and FCA reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead high‑performing finance teams and drive process automation.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting financial and prudential matters to the Board, regulators and investors.
