Finance Director – Manufacturing SME (£110k‑£120k)

About the role

The business is a well‑established, privately‑owned UK manufacturing company with a £22 million turnover, operating in the healthcare sector and international markets. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will lead financial strategy, operations and also oversee HR and IT as a Board‑level appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted adviser to the Managing Director and Board on performance, strategy, investment and risk.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑term business planning.
• Provide commercial insight to support decision‑making across the organisation.
• Ensure robust financial control, statutory compliance and audit management.
• Drive cash management and working‑capital optimisation.
• Lead and develop Finance, HR and IT functions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including systems and process enhancement.

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Proven track record in a manufacturing or production‑led business.
• Experience leading a finance function within an SME or privately‑owned organisation.
• Strong understanding of operational finance, margins, inventory and supply‑chain dynamics.
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insight.
