Finance & HR Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance & HR Manager to lead the day‑to‑day finance function and support people operations for a growing SME near Salisbury. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls and effective HR administration.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance activities, including purchase and sales ledger, payroll and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and provide analysis for decision‑making.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, annual budgeting and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and advisers; ensure VAT and statutory compliance.
• Act as first point of contact for HR matters, handling recruitment, onboarding and employee records.
• Support performance reviews, employee engagement and coordinate training initiatives.
• Assist with health & safety administration and broader business support tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Company Accountant or similar within an SME.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a broad, hands‑on role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business.
• Qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience in finance.
