Finance Lead

About the role

We are partnering with a venture‑backed technology start‑up backed by a private‑equity healthcare group. Based in Central London, the company is scaling rapidly and seeks a Finance Lead to own and develop its finance function. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with senior leadership and the board to provide financial insight and support commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and own monthly management accounts, variance analysis and performance commentary.
• Produce board and leadership reporting packs with actionable business insights.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long‑term financial planning, including cash‑runway analysis.
• Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to support pricing, sales performance and investment decisions.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and oversee supplier payments, expenses and accounts processes.
• Oversee payroll, pensions, VAT, PAYE and other statutory compliance obligations.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, controls and reporting dashboards.
• Support people‑operations, governance and business transformation projects as required.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years post‑qualified experience (PQE) in a finance role, preferably within a high‑growth environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior leadership and board members.
• Proven experience preparing management accounts, board reports and budgeting/forecasting cycles.
• Ability to manage cash flow, working capital and ensure regulatory compliance.
