Finance Management Information Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Management Information Officer to join a Local Authority finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role supports the effective management of financial resources across the Directorate, delivering accurate financial information, budget monitoring and advice to service managers and budget holders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and maintenance of budgets.
• Produce accurate budget monitoring reports and financial management information.
• Analyse financial data and provide insight to support decision‑making.
• Work with budget holders to ensure effective use of resources and value for money.
• Assist with financial reporting, forecasting and final accounts preparation.
• Provide financial guidance and support to non‑finance colleagues.
• Use Microsoft Excel and financial systems to analyse and present information.

Required profile

• Experience working in a finance environment with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non‑finance colleagues.
• AAT qualification (full or part‑qualified) or equivalent.
• Experience preparing financial reports and management information.
• Experience supporting budgets, forecasting and financial monitoring.
• Local Authority experience and knowledge of Oracle systems is desirable.
