Finance Manager – Autonomy & Leadership in Poole

About the role

This Finance Manager role offers a high degree of autonomy and direct access to senior leadership within a fast‑paced, non‑bureaucratic SME environment. You will shape the finance function, support system transitions and provide accurate financial insight to drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the day‑to‑day finance function, including purchase and sales ledger, bank reconciliations and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Support the transition from Sage 200 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, KPIs, margin and profitability analysis.
• Manage VAT returns, payroll liaison and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Define reporting requirements, controls and processes, becoming the internal finance systems expert.
• Support departmental managers with clear, accurate financial information.

Required profile

• Solid management accounting experience with a strong understanding of day‑to‑day finance processes.
• Experience preparing management accounts, strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• AAT Level 4 or another recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience within manufacturing or engineering environments (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
