Finance Manager – Financial Reporting & Business Partnering

About the role

This Finance Manager position supports a growing professional services business in Liverpool. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will oversee financial reporting, compliance and commercial finance while leading a small finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, including insightful analysis
• Ensure financial records are accurate, with regular balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage cashflow and oversee debt, resolving complex issues
• Support the MD with growth strategy and business development
• Review project performance, analysing profitability and future work pipelines
• Respond to financial queries relating to projects and contracts
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Support year‑end processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and projects

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE
• Experience in an industry or fast‑paced commercial environment
• Strong grounding in accounting principles, VAT and financial controls
• Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with confidence to challenge where needed
• Effective communicator comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels
