Finance Manager – Full Ownership of Finance Function

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing SME in central London that needs a Finance Manager to take complete ownership of its finance function. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will manage everything from day‑to‑day transactions to strategic financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly Management Accounts and present findings to the Directors.
• Oversee the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger, processing supplier payments, customer receipts and bank reconciliations.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations, maintain the general ledger and fixed‑asset schedules.
• Prepare and submit VAT Returns.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end processes, liaising with external accountants.
• Generate management reports and financial analysis using Xero and Excel.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial controls and reporting.

Required profile

• Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Company Accountant or Finance Controller with full finance responsibility in an SME.
• Qualified by Experience (QBE) or currently studying towards an accounting qualification.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, VAT, month‑end and year‑end processes.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling).

What we offer

• Salary £60,000‑£65,000 per year plus bonus and benefits.
• Immediate start – must be able to give one month notice or less.
• Full responsibility for a standalone finance function in a dynamic SME environment.
