Finance Manager

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the monthly management accounts cycle and ensure the integrity of the Group's financial reporting. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will operate at the intersection of compliance and business insight, supporting senior management with accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly consolidated accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with commentary for senior management.
• Manage the full financial close process, including inter‑company reconciliations and balance‑sheet reviews.
• Support external audit and statutory year‑end processes, liaising with auditors and managing timelines.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting policies and control environment.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconciliation schedules, and technical accounting documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting to aid business decision‑making.

Required profile

• ACCA, CIMA, ACA qualified or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on finance experience with exposure to monthly reporting and consolidation.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a methodical approach to controls.
• Clear communicator able to translate numbers into meaningful business insight.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP or other accounting software.
