Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our growing business in Hertford. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will become a trusted member of the finance leadership team, responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and providing commercial insight that drives strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Build and maintain robust financial models and commercial analysis using Excel.
• Analyse business performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support the Finance Director with strategic initiatives and business projects.
• Partner with departmental managers to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Develop and mentor junior members of the finance team.
• Review and strengthen financial controls, systems and processes.
• Deliver meaningful reporting to support commercial decision‑making.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with commercial awareness.
• Experience as a Senior Accountant or as the number‑two to a Finance Director in a larger organisation.
• At least five years’ experience in a commercial finance role.
• ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification (or in the final stages of qualification).
