Finance Manager

About the role

Our client, a rapidly growing business in Plymouth, is looking for a commercially‑focused Finance Manager to join the team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role offers the chance to own a broad finance function, provide strategic insight and work closely with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function and financial systems.
• Produce monthly management accounts and commercial performance reports.
• Manage cash flow, banking activities and supplier payment processes.
• Oversee VAT compliance, financial controls and statutory reporting.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Monitor profitability and identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Drive continuous improvements across finance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Manager or in a senior finance role within an SME.
• Strong background in management accounting, cash flow management and financial reporting.
• Commercially minded with excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑motivated, organised and able to work autonomously while partnering with senior stakeholders.
