Finance Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance in a leading manufacturing business based in Medway. The role combines operational finance, team leadership and commercial insight, working closely with production, IT, sales and marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Produce management information, board packs and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Deliver sales, margin and customer profitability analysis and support product profitability reporting.
• Manage stock valuation, standard costing and production‑related financial processes.
• Lead a team of three direct reports and build cross‑functional relationships.
• Support audit processes and respond to audit queries.
• Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency and automation, and enhance financial models and reporting tools.

Required profile

• Leadership or people‑management experience.
• A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (desirable).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
