Finance Manager (Part‑time, 22.5 hrs/week)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the day‑to‑day finance function of a growing SME in Cheltenham. The role is part‑time (approximately 22.5 hours per week) with the possibility of extending to 25 hours during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Daily banking, reconciliations and supplier payments.
• Processing non‑stock supplier invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger.
• Administering monthly payroll via an external provider, including pensions, commissions, overtime and HMRC payments.
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns and liaising with external accountants.
• Month‑end reporting: bank reconciliations, journals, commission calculations, profit & loss, balance sheet and trial balance.
• Managing employee expenses, holiday records and occasional office support.

Required profile

• Solid bookkeeping, payroll and month‑end accounting experience.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently in a busy SME environment.
• Willingness to work primarily on‑site and adapt hours to meet month‑end demands.
