Finance Manager – South West London

About the role

Our client, an educational trust, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to support the Director of Finance. Based in South West London, you will oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, ensure accurate reporting, and provide strategic financial insight across the trust’s institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Line‑manage Finance Officer(s) and supervise finance operations.
• Approve purchase orders, invoices and BACS payment runs.
• Lead month‑end processes, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial re‑forecasts.
• Support annual budgeting and three‑year financial planning.
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies and internal controls.
• Assist procurement and value‑for‑money initiatives.
• Contribute to year‑end audit activities.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to senior leaders.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of relevant finance experience.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, reporting and financial management.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to high standards, accuracy and continuous improvement.
• Awareness of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities.
