Finance Manager – Systems & Process Improvement

About the role

Reed Finance is partnering with a growing organisation to hire a Finance Manager on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on analysing and improving finance systems, processes and controls to drive efficiency and support the wider finance function during a period of change.

Key responsibilities

• Review, evaluate and enhance existing finance systems, processes and controls.
• Lead finance‑related process improvement initiatives, identifying automation and standardisation opportunities.
• Support month‑end reporting, ensuring deadlines and accuracy.
• Develop and improve management reporting to provide actionable insights.
• Analyse financial and operational data to spot trends, inefficiencies and improvement areas.
• Assist with system optimisation projects, including process mapping, testing and implementation.
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Prepare and reconcile key balance‑sheet accounts, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with auditors, software providers and other external stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to finance team members during change initiatives and undertake ad‑hoc project work.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Significant hands‑on finance experience, preferably in finance management, management accounts or finance systems.
• Strong understanding of finance processes, controls and management reporting.
• Proven track record of implementing process improvements in a finance environment.
• Experience with ERP or integrated finance systems, SAGE 200 preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify efficiencies.
