Finance Officer – Financial Reporting Team

About the role

The Financial Reporting Team at Blackburn College provides business‑partnering support to budget‑holders across the college. As a Finance Officer you will assist the Financial Reporting Manager and finance business partners, developing your finance skills under close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Financial Reporting Manager in day‑to‑day financial activities.
• Assist finance business partners with budgeting and reporting tasks.
• Perform double‑entry bookkeeping and maintain accurate ledger entries.
• Carry out regular reconciliations of accounts.
• Prepare and analyse financial data using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Required profile

• AAT Level 4 (or working towards) or equivalent NVQ Level 4 qualification.
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
• Experience working in a finance environment.
• Good understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and reconciliations.
