Finance Officer

About the role

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Finance Officers to join Adult and Children Financial Services (ACFS) within Staffordshire County Council. The role is hybrid, requiring one day a week in our Stafford office and the remainder working remotely. Two positions are available: a permanent full‑time role and a fixed‑term full‑time role until 31 May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately and timely process Adult Social Care charges.
• Bill care recipients and process payments to care providers.
• Maintain and update system records related to charges and payments.
• Liaise with financial representatives and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
• Proactive approach to delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to complete work accurately and within deadlines.
• Competency in using multiple computer systems.
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Understanding of social care charging is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
