Finance Officer – Littlehampton

About the role

We are looking for an organised, detail‑focused Finance Officer to join our support staff team in Littlehampton. Working closely with the Finance and Operations Manager, you will help maintain accurate financial records and support budget monitoring within an educational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records using financial management systems.
• Process purchase orders, invoices and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Carry out bank and petty‑cash reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end financial processes.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and highlight variances.
• Assist with cash‑flow forecasting and procurement value‑for‑money initiatives.
• Resolve invoice and payment queries while ensuring confidentiality.

Required profile

• Essential AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a finance or financial administration role.
• Strong administrative, organisational and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• High levels of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.

• Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
