About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to join the Alliance Finance Department at Dorset Police, based at the Devon and Cornwall Police Headquarters in Exeter. This full‑time temporary position offers a hybrid working pattern, allowing you to split your time between the office and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Source purchasing requests and ensure timely fulfilment.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers to manage consumables efficiently.
• Process invoices accurately and within specified timescales.
• Maintain financial records and ensure value for money in all purchasing activities.
• Administer receipt of goods and update inventory as required.
• Manage outstanding debts and monitor finances.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Handle cash collections and banking transactions with integrity.
