Finance Operations Associate – Common Depository Vault

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Finance Operations Associate to manage the day‑to‑day activities of the Common Depository Vault in London. The role involves overseeing primary issuances into ICSDs, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the Global Service Centre in Kolkata.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Common Depository Vault, including creation and authentication of Global Notes.
• Ensure all new issuances into ICSDs meet regulatory requirements for Common Depository creation.
• Review and improve processes to enhance automation, reduce risk and strengthen controls.
• Maintain daily controls, trackers and accurate activity records.
• Provide operational support to the Common Depositary, New Issues and Rate Fix teams.
• Assist with UAT testing for system enhancements and manage ad‑hoc projects.
• Support the Vault Manager with internal and external audit requests.

Required profile

• Experience in a corporate trust environment with settlements knowledge, preferably in ICSDs.
• Understanding of capital markets products and processes.
• Strong communication and client‑service skills.
• Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision and manage changing priorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CASS regulatory requirements (beneficial).
