Finance Ops Director

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Finance Ops Director to lead the operational engine of its finance function. This senior position combines hands‑on finance‑operations expertise with team leadership, acting as the primary escalation point and partnering closely with finance and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a finance‑operations team, ensuring high service quality and consistent delivery.
• Own core financial controls, forecasting, reporting and cash processes.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex or non‑standard matters.
• Partner with finance and business leaders on commercial and operational decisions.
• Drive process improvement, standardisation and automation across the function.
• Champion adoption of technology, ERP and workflow automation.

Required profile

• Senior experience in finance operations, financial control or a comparable finance‑leadership role.
• Strong technical grounding in controls, reporting and finance processes.
• Proven track record of operational improvement or transformation.
• Commercial judgement with confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
