About the role

Abacus Consulting is partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice in St Albans to recruit a Finance & Payroll Services Administrator. The role is hybrid, based in central St Albans, and offers a competitive salary of £30k plus a strong benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to client queries and maintain clear, professional communication with businesses.
• Build and nurture strong working relationships with an assigned portfolio of clients.
• Work with large volumes of data using spreadsheets to check, organise and interpret information.
• Prepare and process payroll and finance administration tasks accurately.
• Provide timely support and advice to clients on finance and payroll matters.

Required profile

• Background in payroll, finance administration, data processing or client‑facing roles.
• Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in the hospitality sector is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work hybrid, based in central St Albans.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced).
