Finance Supervisor (12‑Month Fixed‑Term, Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Supervisor to join a growing Midlands‑based SME on a 12‑month fixed‑term maternity cover. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key part in keeping the finance function running smoothly and supporting operational decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers, process invoices and resolve ledger discrepancies.
• Support month‑end close activities, including accruals, pre‑payments, journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee high‑volume invoice processing, manage supplier and customer accounts and assist with cash allocation.
• Provide day‑to‑day finance support to administrative and operational teams and act as the primary point of contact for finance queries.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency of the finance department.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Finance Supervisor, Accounts Supervisor or Senior Accounts Assistant role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple finance processes simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with senior leadership.
