Finance Systems & Data Migration Accountant

About the role

This is a 4‑6 month contract position supporting a private‑equity backed organisation undergoing a major finance transformation and acquisition programme. The role focuses on modernising finance processes by improving and migrating Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, while ensuring data quality and stakeholder alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance workstreams across ERP implementation, upgrade and migration projects.
• Configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to best‑practice standards.
• Plan and manage migration of legacy financial data into BC365.
• Map, cleanse, validate, reconcile and test migrated data to maintain integrity.
• Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Develop robust financial reporting capabilities and strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with finance and operational stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective solutions.
• Identify, resolve and continuously improve finance systems issues.

Required profile

• Experienced finance professional with a strong systems background.
• Proven track record delivering finance transformation, ERP implementation or migration projects.
• Deep understanding of finance processes and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience is desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC365).
• Proven experience leading ERP implementation or finance migration projects.
