Finance Systems Implementation Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Systems Implementation Lead to drive the end‑to‑end delivery of a brand‑new finance system for a respected public body. You will work closely with Finance, IT, external partners and business stakeholders to ensure the solution delivers lasting improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and implementation of a new finance system, coordinating internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Set up and manage the project team, translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, control and automation.
• Oversee system configuration, testing, data migration and user‑acceptance testing.
• Cleanse, validate and reconcile financial data throughout the project.
• Develop reporting requirements, dashboards and management information.
• Create process documentation, user guides and training materials.
• Deliver training and support colleagues in adopting new processes.
• Build strong relationships across Finance, IT and operational teams.
• Support project planning, risk management and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance system implementations or large‑scale finance projects.
• Strong ability to bridge finance and technology, communicating effectively with both finance and IT teams.
• Comfortable working in a project‑based environment and driving change.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
