Finance Team Leader – Basingstoke

About the role

Join MEARS Group as a Finance Team Leader in our Basingstoke office. You will own the performance of a small finance team, ensure accurate financial processing and maintain strong relationships with clients, landlords and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Finance Assistants, Administrators and a Business Apprentice.
• Oversee daily purchase ledger, sales ledger and reconciliation activities.
• Monitor KPIs, ensure compliance with audit, contractual and regulatory standards.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and deliver high‑quality customer service.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Experience in a finance department, preferably within housing or property services.
• Proven leadership ability with a track record of motivating teams and driving change.
• Strong analytical capability and experience producing accurate reports and statistical analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
