Finance Team Leader – Housing Association

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established housing association in Luton to recruit a Finance Team Leader on a permanent basis. You will oversee key accounting functions, support the Financial Controller and help drive continuous improvement within the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and rent accounting.
• Maintain monthly cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
• Post journals, maintain the nominal ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Prepare purchase ledger payment runs and resolve finance queries with colleagues and suppliers.
• Assist with the fixed asset register and support departmental processes.
• Set targets, coach and manage the finance team while handling your own workload.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a busy finance or accounting environment.
• Previous experience supervising or leading finance processes.
• Familiarity with accounting software and payroll systems.
