Finance Team Leader

About the role

Forestry England is seeking a Finance Team Leader to manage the day‑to‑day finance function for the Bellingham District Office. You will work closely with the Finance and Business Manager to support strategic business objectives and ensure accurate, timely financial processing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance team in processing financial transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, collating and disseminating information as required.
• Collaborate with the Office Manager, Finance and Business Support Manager and other Business Support colleagues.
• Support the achievement of strategic business objectives through effective financial management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance or business support functions.
• Ability to lead a team and manage day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder liaison.

• Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2029 (possible extension or permanency).
