Finance Team Leader

About the role

TRI Consulting is seeking an experienced Finance Team Leader to oversee daily financial operations while driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and Management Accountant, balancing hands‑on processing with strategic support for the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day activities of the finance team, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain monthly cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile rent income with accounting records and oversee rent collection.
• Prepare and post journals to the nominal ledger.
• Supervise sales ledger invoicing, posting and collections.
• Oversee purchase ledger processing and supplier payments.
• Support the fixed asset register and provide finance guidance across the business.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve finance queries.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing reports for Board and management meetings.
• Contribute to business planning, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a finance or accounting environment.
• Previous supervisory or team‑leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Experience maintaining nominal ledgers and posting journals.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• High attention to detail.
