Finance/Income Officer

About the role

This part‑time, permanent position supports a leading charity in the care sector, joining a close‑knit accounting team in Cheltenham. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure the sales ledger is accurate, invoices are issued correctly and income is collected efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly sales invoices, credit notes and purchase billing.
• Maintain accurate fee structures and billing information in the finance system.
• Process and reconcile direct debit collections and manage new bank mandates.
• Act as the primary contact for invoicing queries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor overdue accounts, conduct credit control activities and report complex debt issues.
• Post and reconcile bank entries related to income and support month‑end journal entries.
• Provide debtor and revenue analysis for cash‑flow reporting.
• Assist the wider finance team with ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Experience in credit control and sales ledger processes.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building internal and external relationships.
• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to organisational needs.
• Experience in healthcare, social care or service‑led environments is a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Xero financial system (advantageous).
