Financial Accountant – Cambridge (Hybrid)

About the role

Heap & Co are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a large global client’s finance team in Cambridge. This hybrid, full‑time position offers hands‑on ownership of the end‑to‑end accounting cycle, providing exposure to reporting, tax, payroll and broader finance functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts, VAT and corporation tax returns.
• Produce monthly management accounts and support year‑end audit.
• Perform balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain and improve the month‑end close process.
• Assist with monthly payroll processing.
• Support finance planning, treasury, system enhancements, controls and internal audit activities.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or near‑qualified).
• Proactive, can‑do attitude with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage own workload and communicate clearly.
• Motivation to develop a broad finance skill set in a fast‑moving environment.
