Financial Accountant – Hybrid – Birmingham

About the role

Our client, a market leader, is seeking a Financial Accountant to ensure the integrity of the Group's general ledger, deliver accurate financial information and support the VAT return process. The role is hybrid, based in Birmingham, and offers the chance to develop within a supportive, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of the Group's financial information through reconciliation and accounting activities.
• Deliver timely and accurate Group financial reports.
• Lead the preparation and submission of the Group VAT return.
• Coach and develop Assistant Accountants, acting as a role model.
• Support the Senior Accountant in reviewing junior team members' work.
• Contribute to the Financial Control change agenda.
• Prepare subsidiary accounts for the Group.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across Group accounting processes.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of all key processes.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
