Financial Accountant – Hybrid, Glasgow

About the role

Pertemps is partnering with a publicly funded organisation in Glasgow to hire an experienced Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. The role involves preparing annual financial statements for three legal entities, ensuring compliance with IFRS, FReM and public sector standards, and supporting the finance team in a hybrid working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of statutory accounts in line with IFRS, FReM, and public sector standards.
• Coordinate year‑end close processes, including reconciliations, working papers and audit evidence.
• Act as primary contact for external auditors and ensure timely resolution of findings.
• Manage complex accounting transactions such as accruals, provisions, fixed assets and grants.
• Oversee taxation and insurance matters, including VAT and corporate tax.
• Ensure accurate filing with Companies House and other government bodies.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA).
• Strong experience preparing financial statements and liaising with external auditors.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS and public sector accounting standards (FReM/SPFM).
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
