Financial Accountant

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its UK finance team, supporting the UK and Netherlands entities. The role involves month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end close activities, including preparation and posting of accruals and journals.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations prepared by the Shared Service Centre, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Support the annual statutory accounts process in partnership with the UK Financial Controller.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries promptly.
• Liaise with Tax, Internal Audit and Finance Business Partners to produce analytical reviews and investigate material P&L variances.
• Prepare ad‑hoc manual payments for the Payroll department and collaborate with the SSC to resolve issues.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, including SOX controls and ONS survey submissions.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified (or studying towards) ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent finance experience.
• Experience with multi‑currency transactions and foreign exchange (FX).
• SOX experience desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong planning and prioritisation abilities.
