Financial Accountant – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a long‑standing client’s technical accounting team in Leeds. The role will deliver financial information and manage external reporting processes, including complex areas such as debt, foreign exchange and consolidations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports to ensure compliance with statutory and organisational standards.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver insightful financial analysis and reporting.
• Maintain and improve financial controls and processes within the organisation.
• Monitor key financial metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors as required.

Required profile

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Professional experience working within a high‑volume finance function.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Strong proficiency in all MS Office applications, with at least intermediate Excel skills.
• Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
