Financial Analyst – Technical Accounting & Reporting

About the role

We are supporting a fast‑growing FinTech EMI in London and are looking for a Financial Analyst to join the finance team. The role focuses on technical accounting, month‑end reporting and ad‑hoc projects, offering a solid foundation for a newly qualified accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical accounting papers and memos under FRS 102 and IFRS for new transactions.
• Assist the CFO and Financial Controller with system‑related initiatives and special projects.
• Act as a champion for AI adoption within finance, identifying efficiency‑boosting opportunities.
• Respond to audit and controller queries with clear written explanations.
• Support preparation of monthly management accounts for all group entities.
• Perform detailed data and variance analysis to inform business decisions.
• Produce monthly MI reporting and board‑pack materials.
• Handle daily bank revenue postings and cash reconciliation.
• Provide audit support and resolve statutory audit queries.
• Develop into a super‑user of the Xledger accounting system.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or newly qualified accountant.
• Experience in a top‑tier UK audit firm or accountancy practice is preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work onsite during the three‑month probation and then adopt a hybrid schedule.
